Resolved: Ronald Reagan is Ruining D.C.’s Weather
You can blame the Gipper for many things, and we’ll include this on the list: he’s screwing with D.C.’s weather measurements. OK, so it’s not Ronald Reagan’s fault per se, but rather the fact that D.C.’s official weather station is located on the grounds of the airport that bears his name.
Damn! Google has corrected an error in its maps that listed a small section of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport as being in D.C. instead of Arlington.

In a new series of posts, we get some help in uncovering some historical nuggets from Washington’s history. Today we start with National Airport, and three things you may not have known about it.
It’s big news for D.C. flyers who need to escape our decidedly square environs and make it to hipper climes: direct flights from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport to both San Francisco and Portland were announced today, along with Austin and San Juan.
Did D.C. just claim a small chunk of Arlington County? Sure, if you believe Google maps. And we do, so let’s welcome Arlington, D.C. to the city!
