The Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Latino removed all content related to the embattled Casa Ruby founder from its interactive exhibit and companion website.

An updated OAG complaint comes as the nonprofit’s founder, Ruby Corado, faces allegations that she stole more than $400,000 from Casa Ruby.

Corado’s legal representation and the attorney general’s updated complaint must both be finalized by Monday.

A court-appointed auditor of the LGBTQ+ organization determined that Casa Ruby owes creditors more than $2 million dollars and left rented properties in disarray.

The group is raising money with a GoFundMe campaign to continue some of its emergency shelter services for LGBTQ+ people experiencing homelessness.

A GoFundMe page has already raised more than $67,000 to help the nonprofit secure a new space.

“I never had to call the police like we’ve had to call the police in the last six months,” says Ruby Corado, founder of Casa Ruby.

“We have to talk about the need. Because the need is real,” founder Ruby Corado says.
