Once in a while, America’s leading gasbag, Rush Limbaugh, likes to wade into D.C.’s local politics. Why? Who knows? It’s not like he gets it right.
After costing himself dozens of advertisers in the wake of calling Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke a “slut,” Rush Limbaugh was back at it today, going after The Washington Post’s humor columnist Alexandra Petri.
After hearing that their music was playing in the background while Rush Limbaugh called Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke a “slut,” Rush, the band, is threatening the radio host with legal action.
Thanks to Ken Cuccinelli and Rush Limbaugh, there are a lot of people out there who seem to be convinced that D.C. is smuggling its rats into Virginia.

Robert Egger: Rush-Buster
We know better than to take the bait from Rush Limbaugh. But Robert Egger, founder of the DC Central Kitchen, couldn’t help responding to the radio host’s recent comments that non-profit employees were “lazy idiots” and “rapists in terms of the finance and economy.” The Central Kitchen does so much good work, and we can hardly imagine a more appropriate person to respond to Limbaugh’s latest struggle with diarrhea of the mouth.

D.C. Area Native Wanda Sykes @ WHCD
Comedienne Wanda Sykes returned to Washington this weekend to deliver the ever-fraught White House Correspondents Dinner host’s comedy routine. Sykes grew up in the D.C. area, and famously worked as a procurement officer for the National Security Agency before launching her stand-up career. How did she do? Elsewhere in the Ist-a-verse
The nicer the weather gets, the busier we get across the Ist-A-Verse. But we like being busy. Here’s a peek at what we’ve been up to since last week! Chicagoist had an interview with Audrey Niffenegger, whose popular book, The Time Traveler’s Wife, was based in their fine city. They also had a heated discussion about Rush Limbaugh’s controversial Barack Obama parody, talked about whether Uncle Julio’s Hacienda is a good place to get…

Morning Roundup: ‘It’s Ugly’ Edition
It’s a drizzly Thursday morning out there, D.C., and it seems like every … single … local news headline … we’ve run across has to do with this Tuesday’s election. Rest assured, we’ll have DCist’s own election guide for you later this afternoon, but we’ll also have plenty of our regular music, food and other odd goodies. Because lord knows we could all stand a break from the Midterm Midtacular (hat tip to The Daily…
