Job Opening at the White House
President Bush may soon be hitting Craigslist to fill a new position in his administration. He wants to create the job of ‘War Czar” to report directly to the Commander-in-Cheif and oversee military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. Problem is, no one wants the job. Bush has approached three retired four-star generals for the new position, and all three passed on the gig. One of the potential recruits, Marine Gen. John J. “Jack” Sheehan, told…

Elsewhere in the Ist-a-verse

To register, prospective voters must prove Iraqi citizenship and show that they were born before Dec. 31, 1986. At first, the suburban location of the center seems slightly illogical; however, the hotel’s proximity to New Carrollton’s…

Psycho-analyzing Politicos
Jerrold Post, the former director of the CIA’s Center for the Analysis of Personality and Political Behavior, will be at Politics and Prose Saturday evening to discuss his new book, “Leaders and Their Followers in a Dangerous World.” In the book, which has profiles of leaders from Saddam Hussein to Bill Clinton, Post argues that the psychological profile of a nation’s leader can tie together domestic politics and international affairs. While Post’s book has been…
