A federal judge banned D.C. from enforcing a law that allowed minors 11 and older to get vaccines without parental consent.

D.C. and Prince George’s County are the only regional school systems that continue to require face covering.

Masks are already optional in Virginia schools, and next week Montgomery County’s school board is set to vote on whether to relax its own mask mandate.

School officials in Arlington, Alexandria, and Fairfax sent messages to families over the weekend saying that their policies would remain in effect.

D.C. officials also said that school kids will again have to return negative COVID-19 tests ahead of returning to classes after a winter break in February and spring break in April.

More than 90 bus routes were cancelled and hundreds of teachers and staff called out sick.

Lawmakers want to make it easier for D.C. students to opt for remote learning, but Mayor Muriel Bowser says it kids do better when they’re learning in person.

The D.C. Council is expected to jump right into action with legislation addressing the reopening of public schools.
