Uber Plans Expansion to Baltimore
The sedan-service-by-smartphone company is expanding to Baltimore, though a launch date is not yet scheduled.
After a contentious D.C. Council hearing about Uber on Monday, Jim Graham (D-Ward 1) said rather than regulate the on-demand sedan service, he’d rather see a relaxing of regulations on the District’s taxi industry.
A maddeningly long D.C. Council session that focused almost exclusively on the livery sedan service Uber was a theater of the absurd, featuring references to the Soviet Union and Robert F. Kennedy, along with explanations of the nature capitalism.
