President Barack Obama won re-election yesterday, and he did so with the help of 91 percent of D.C.’s voters. Maybe now he can do something about D.C. voting rights, huh?

Hunger Strikers Try to Meet Issa on Auspicious Day
The three protesters that launched a hunger strike yesterday for D.C. voting right and self-determination are planning on trying to meet with Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) today, in hopes of having him introduce a clean bill granting the District budgetary autonomy.
On this day in 1964, District voters cast their first presidential ballots since the city was established in 1800.

Congress Enmeshes Itself In D.C. Hiring
The last we heard from Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), he was talking about expanded budget autonomy. Today, he’s apparently headed in the opposite direction, introducing legislation that would dictate D.C. government hiring practices.
