Montgomery County is the first place in Maryland to implement the “20 is Plenty” program, but D.C. recently lowered speed limits to 20 mph on residential and local streets.

Mayor Vince Gray ordered today that the speed limits on sections of New York Avenue NE, Bladensburg Road NE, North Capitol Street and Canal Road NW increase by five miles per hour.
