Maryland Is Set To Launch Mobile Sports Betting This Month, But Not All Gambling Providers Are Ready
Three of the 10 companies approved for mobile sports betting licenses in Maryland will not be ready for the planned rollout of mobile gambling in the state next week.
A technical mishap took D.C.’s sole official sports-betting app offline for many users during the Super Bowl, costing the city money and sparking widespread criticism.
The state’s sport wagering commission has given the second half of 2022 as a tentative date to launch mobile sports betting.
D.C. took in less than one third of the revenue that was projected from sports betting, says the D.C. Auditor.
