The suit alleges that officers followed, harrassed, and illegally searched a Latino man based on an unjustified suspicion that he was involved in gang activity.

Seventy-two percent of some 63,000 stops were of black people.

This is the D.C. ACLU’s fourth lawsuit in recent years that alleges a D.C. police officer conducted a sexually invasive or unreasonable search.

“I always told people that worked for me, ‘Don’t be afraid to go up in the crotch,'” the supervisor testified.

The ACLU of D.C. is interviewing witnesses from the incident.
