While at the Subway, located at 1712 L Street NW, Obama ate a sandwich that included
“turkey, no cheese, and a pile of vegetables, including spinach, tomatoes, pickles, and peperoncinis.”
Five Subway restaurants, a Dunkin’ Donuts, KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut in D.C. were shut down over an allegedly unpaid tax bill.
Not many films or TV shows that are set in D.C. actually film in D.C., allowing producers to take some creative liberties with what they think our city should look like. A TNT show was the most recent culprit.
Subway is testing three new vegan options in the D.C. market, so we decided to give them a try. And while you’d never think a fake rib sandwich could be any good, Subway’s was something of a surprise.
Care for a donut with that footlong sub? Signage on the northeast corner of the 14th and U Streets NW intersection now indicates that a Dunkin’ Donuts will be joining Subway as anchor tenants on the first floor of the building, which will also house a restaurant and lounge helmed by Local 16 owner Aman Ayoubi.

The same fire also forced the closure of the DJ Hut located above Alberto’s and the Subway next door, both of which remain closed. According to Alberto’s staff, renovations to reopen the…

And if it’s the merchandise that keeps us in line, then there is no time of year when we binge on our fix of choice like the holiday season. Bank accounts and credit card statements across the nation can do the testifying for us on this point. And so it is at the most…
