Frank Gehry Isn’t Getting Rid of Those 80-Foot-Tall Metal Tapestries at the Eisenhower Memorial
Today Frank Gehry unveiled some refinements to his controversial design for the Eisenhower Memorial. While the statue of the 34th president has changed, the 80-foot-tall metal tapestries framing the memorial have remained.
As a congressional committee heard complaints over a proposed memorial for President Dwight D. Eisenhower during a hearing yesterday, architect Frank Gehry said he would be open to making changes to his controversial design.
