Jordan Palmer was driving the police cruiser that chased down Terrence Sterling on the day of his death in 2016.
Protesters demanded on Monday that officials reopen the case against officer Brian Trainer that the U.S. Attorney’s Office for D.C. closed in August.
Police originally said that Sterling intentionally drove his motorcycle into the passenger door of a police cruiser before he was fatally shot in September.
Protesters have taken to the street every week since the shooting of the black motorcyclist by a D.C. police officer.
A document titled “Preparing to Discuss Race and Police Violence in the Classroom” outlines 10 recommendations.
There is another protest to demand justice for Sterling slated for next Monday.
Mayor Muriel Bowser says that releasing the information is in the best interest of the public.
