The Washington Post Killed the Radio Star
There won’t be any hand-wringing or head-scratching over why the Washington Post’s foray into radio failed. Today’s Post article on the issue pretty much sums it up as well as anyone could hope to: “[Post Radio] was not able to draw even 1 percent of listeners during its first year.” Ouch. The Washingtonian’s Harry Jaffe wrote earlier this month of the project’s coming demise, and today provides more insight as to why the whole venture…

The Weekly Feed: AgriDaddy Edition
The Secret Ingredient: Flaxseed Iron Chef is combing through the restaurant ranks here in Washington once again, this timing tapping Agraria’s chef, Ricky Moore, for America’s culinary entertainment. To help keep all of these sites — and any other food news that comes our way — together for you, DCist introduces The…

Teens Are Getting High!
Washingtonian magazine wants you to know: teens are smoking pot. Their sprawling article on pot use by even “honors” teens from their November edition, is what this week’s City Paper has blasted as a “classic contribution to America’s tradition of drug-use hysteria.” The story is rife with breathlessly told stories of drug use among teens: A box of Phillies blunts is empty on the kitchen counter of a nice house in Bethesda. Beside it is…

The Overlooked Pizza Jewel: Two Amys
Sometimes you just need pizza. And even though Pizza Hut’s bipartisan pizza deal may seem tempting, you know that sometimes only wood-fired will do. This weekend, we found ourselves at Two Amys (3715 Macomb St. NW in Cathedral Heights) not once, but twice. (Once for dining pleasure, the second as a reward for helping a friend move out of his apartment. Yes, we’re pizza gluttons.) But we can’t help than notice that some local ratings…
