This week was all about Space Shuttle Discovery’s arrival to the area, the Secret Service’s trip to Colombia and hackers going after D.C. government websites.

Plenty happened this week, including the D.C. primary (which is still unsettled!), Marion Barry’s overactive mouth, a dramatic Navy jet crash, and two D.C. United players taking a stand on Trayvon Martin.

This week DCist Exposed opened, we caught glimpses of the city’s beautiful cherry blossoms, Mike Daisey only dug his hole deeper and a woman broke a standing record at Dulles when she got busted with five pounds of heroin in her stomach.

This week we freaked out over the warm weather, George Clooney was arrested for being dreamy (and for protesting in front of the Sudanese Embassy) and the Nats announced that they’d try to kill their fans with an eight-pound burger.

This week, a cat entered the race for a Virginia Senate seat, D.C. food trucks faced sales taxes, a cyclist hit at 11th and U Streets was ticketed for running a red light and not wearing a helmet, and the cherry blossoms’ peak bloom period was announced.

This week, D.C. juked the stats, the Washington Monument turned 127, presidential hopefuls ran around Nats Park (with hilarious consequences), and Axl Rose proved that a 50-year-old man can still rock out (for a little too long, it seems).

This week there were plenty of tube meats, cute pets, vintage performances and conservative Virginia laws.

Plenty happened this week, including a local Andrew Breitbart flip-out, Marion Barry playing football analyst, Virginia searching for a new state song and some funky looking new street signs.

Beyond the significant news in Occupy D.C. this week, we celebrated our own local Groundhog Day, debated the pronunciation of McPherson and awwed at some pictures of wolf cubs.

It certainly wasn’t a slow news week, with Congress digging into Occupy D.C., taxicabs getting failing marks from plenty of D.C. residents and a locally made gin and whiskey just months away.
