Person Found Dead After Fall From Building Near Thomas Circle

Authorities say that a person was found dead after falling from a building two blocks east of Thomas Circle this morning. D.C. Fire and EMS crews responded to the scene at 1200 M Street NW around 8 a.m. today and found a person — who they are labeling as “possibly a window washer” — who had suffered traumatic injuries consistent with those which would occur from a “fall or jump from a ten story building.”…

Suspicious Package Detouring Traffic Near Thomas Circle

Thomas Circle Reopening After Suspicious Package Investigation

Police closed off the entirety of Thomas Circle this morning, with no vehicle nor foot traffic allowed through the circle, due to a suspicious package investigation. The Massachusetts Ave. tunnel was also closed. MPD public information officer Kenny Bryson said the package was discovered at about 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of 13th and Mass. Downed Wires at Thomas Circle

If your route home takes you through Thomas Circle, you’re being advised to find an alternate route this evening thanks to some downed electrical wires. The wires are blocking eastbound traffic on Massachusetts Avenue NW at the entrance to the tunnel under Thomas Circle, according to DDOT. All eastbound traffic must detour around the circle in order to continue on Massachusetts. Emergency crews are already on scene and PEPCO is on its way….
