We’re gobsmacked that we forgot to mention Tim “Make it Work” Gunn’s planned whirlwind visit to the District this weekend. A native of Washington, he’s a veteran of Corcoran College of Art + Design and hit the big time as a mentor to aspiring designers on Bravo’s oddly addictive Project Runway. Along with co-author Kate Moloney, Gunn comes to town promoting his new fashion manifesto, Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste, and Style….

The Most Elegant Man in the Room
“A reality show about fashion?? That sounds horrible!” Tim Gunn shared his famous last words with a packed auditorium last night at the Corcoran, a nostalgic homecoming for this former student and administrator of the school. Many reasons to be smiling during the start of this week: fall appears to be settling in with some cool yet still-sunny weather, the Redskins totally (and finally!) kicked some ass yesterday against the Houston Texans, and Tim Gunn, Project Runway guru, will be doing a live chat on on washingtonpost.com at 11 a.m.!
