A tornado with winds reaching 90 mph touched down in Bowie yesterday, leaving uprooted trees and some damaged houses in its wake.

Thunder, lightning, rain and a tornado warning put a stop to last Friday’s game between the Nationals and Atlanta Braves. But it couldn’t keep hundreds of trombonists off the field.

Eleven tornadoes touched down in the region during Friday’s storms, though none were reported in D.C.
