At the NBA trading deadline last night, the Wizards, flummoxed by a disappointing 10-32 season, dealt away three players from their frustrating roster—Ronny Turiaf, Nick Young and that clown prince of on-court antics, JaVale McGee.
Baseball pundits are getting fired up about the Nationals’ acquisition of Gio Gonzalez. At least he didn’t come from the Phillies.

You might not recognize all four of the Caps’ latest acquisitions, but no one will recognize you when they get through with you. Nats Roundup: Trading Down
The Nationals are 2-10 since the All Star break, currently in a nine game losing streak, and have been swept in three straight series. Their two wins came in a three game series in Atlanta. Nats Update: Offseason’s Bounty
Jim Bowden has been a busy man this offseason. Since we last left the Nationals, they have acquired outfielder Elijah Dukes, infielder Aaron Boone, pitcher Tyler Clippard, and catcher Paul Lo Duca. They have also signed outfielder Wily Mo Pena to a one year deal. Betting that he can’t possibly have two horrible years in a row, the Nats have also signed outfielder Ryan “more strikeouts than total bases” Langerhans to a one year deal….

Nats Off-season: The Field Is Done
Exciting things are happening to the Nationals this off-season. As you can see from Clark Construction Camera, the new baseball field is complete. The grass is Kentucky Bluegrass, which “is cut a bit longer and slows the ball.” Hopefully the team didn’t choose this type of grass because they refuse to acquire a quality center fielder this off-season. According the Mayor Fenty, the new stadium is both on time and on budget. Season ticket holders…
