The city’s entire traffic signal network, which includes 1,650 signals, will be in sync by early next year.

This is part of an “initiative to make the District’s traffic signals safer and friendlier for pedestrians, improve bus running times and overall traffic flow and reduce vehicular traffic emissions.”
