Gray Backs Ward 5 Streetcar Car Barn Location, Says Seven to 10 Will Be Needed for Whole System
Mayor Vince Gray isn’t backing away from a controversial streetcar maintenance and training facility on the grounds of a school in Ward 5, and says that seven to 10 such car barns will be needed for the whole streetcar network.
Not many errant planes make it into Washington’s airspace. So if you see some jets flying low over the city tomorrow morning, fear not—it’s all part of a NASA training exercise.

Walmart to Pay For D.C. Job Training Programs
This morning, the District is expected to announce the donation of $3 million from the charitable arm of Walmart to establish job training programs around the city — another in a series of donations which will serve to market the store as a stakeholder in the District.

Prepare To Be Prepared
Did you know it’s National Preparedness Month? (Yeah, neither did I, but so it is!) As a result, there’s going to be plenty of emergency workers out and about in the D.C. area this weekend, running drills to make sure that in the event something awful happens, they’ll be ready.
