GOP Happy With Attempted D.C. Abortion Ban
The Republican Party’s official platform not only opposes D.C. statehood and support more guns for residents, but applauds an attempt to ban abortions in D.C. after 20 weeks.
A bill that would ban abortions in D.C. after 20 weeks fell short in the House of Representatives yesterday, failing to attract the necessary two-thirds majority for passage. The vote was 220-154, largely along party lines.
A bill banning abortions in D.C. after 20 weeks passed a House committee yesterday, though it won’t likely make it through the Senate or to President Obama’s desk.

Norton Speaks Out Against D.C. Abortion Bill
A bill that could prohibit abortions in D.C. after 20 weeks will be marked up by a congressional committee tomorrow afternoon, and D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton is unhappy that it’s moving forward.
