Looking for a getaway from D.C. by train? The newly-opened section of Metro’s Silver Line has options for adventure seekers, beer lovers, and those who love the outdoors.

Last seen in 2019’s “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” the full-sized fictional spacecraft is being conserved in preparation for moving to the museum downtown next year.

Getting to the Air and Space Museum’s Udvar-Hazy location will be easier, thanks to the Silver Line.

Federal prosecutors in Virginia are charging two parking attendants at a parking lot attached to the Smithsonian’s Udvar-Hazy Center near Dulles International Airport of stealing more than $400,000 from the museum.

After Tuesday’s spectacular Space Shuttle Discovery flight over the region, thousands traveled to the Udvar-Hazy Center yesterday to welcome the shuttle and say goodbye to the Enterprise.

With space shuttle Discovery settling into its new digs at the National Air and Space Museum’s Udvar-Hazy Center, for the the current occupant of the hangar-turned-museum at Dulles International Airport, it’s time to go. Boldly.

Big news for all you space nerds: as we noted last year, the space shuttle Discovery will join the Smithsonian’s collection in April. But even better, the AP reports today that NASA got the permits to fly a 747 with the shuttle strapped on it over the U.S. Capitol, allowing anyone in the city with a good view of the sky to get quite the view of it.

The Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum today acquired an 8-foot-high lighted star from New York’s Coney Island’s now closed space-age theme park, Astroland. They sent over the above image of them receiving the actual star this afternoon, which shows Curator Margaret Weitekamp and Exhibit Designer Rebekah Brokway supervising their staff as they measure the Star. The Astroland Star will be on display…
