Vehicle Overturns at 22nd and P Streets NW
UPDATE (11:30 a.m.): DCist reader Jonathan Stroud was pumping gas at the station across the street from the intersection where the accident occurred. “The SUV was trying to catch the light,” Stroud tells us, “[and when] that Ford in the background nosed out, the SUV slammed the brakes, turned, and flipped over.”
Independence Avenue SW has been shut down to traffic between 4th and 7th Streets, as federal authorities investigate a suspicious vehicle. Twitter tipster @shawnredern has posted this photo from the scene at the intersection of 6th Street and Maryland Avenue, where vehicles have blocked off access. The real question: what kind of effect, if any, is this having on geographically-challenged newspaper hawkers up the street?

Metro Vehicle Booted Outside L’Enfant Plaza Station
First, it was Marion Barry’s Jaguar. Now, a Metro vehicle outside the L’Enfant Plaza Metro station at the intersection of 7th Street and Maryland Avenue SW was found booted last night. Coincidence? Or is the Department of Public Works just going after historic pillars of Washingtonian ire? (If the latter, might we suggest coordinating with Prince George’s authorities on a certain sports team’s owner?)
View Larger Map WUSA9 reports that Montgomery County Police have located the navy blue 2007 Nissan Xterra which belonged to murdered Shaw Middle School at Garnet-Patterson principal Brian Betts. The car was found on Saturday morning on the 3900 block of 4th Street SE. The Post adds that the vehicle did not appear to be damaged. No additional details were provided about anything else authorities may or may not have found at the scene, but…
