Presale tickets for this year’s Virgin FreeFest disappeared in about ten minutes today. This means that it’s time for people to start selling them at exorbitant rates on Craigslist, obviously. Ain’t capitalism grand?

Late last night, Sir Richard Branson took a break from his busy schedule of golfing in the dark and trying, unsuccessfully, to sail across the world to tell us all about this year’s Virgin Mobile FreeFest, which will take place on September 10 at Merriweather Post Pavilion.

Alright, so you’re all ready for Virgin Free Fest this Saturday, but you’re curious about when you’ll need to switch sets, when you’ll be able to pay $20 or so for a hot dog and beer dinner and the difficult choices you’ll need to make when it comes to picking sides between Pavement, M.I.A., LCD Soundsystem and others? Well, wait no more — the full schedule for both days has been officially released, allowing you the chance to map out which bands you’ll need to move around for.

. . . and those best things are gone now. Free tickets to the Virgin Mobile FreeFestival are all sold out, according to the website. Facebook and the 9:30 boards are long on the testimony of frustrated would-be festival-goers who mobbed the site this morning. Not that it mattered: despite the technical snafus, the pre-sale allocation of free tickets sold out in about ten minutes.
