Tamika Smith, a familiar voice on WAMU’s airwaves, will start her new role immediately. Smith has held various roles at the station since 2014.

The new GM comes to the station from Florida, where she led an NPR affiliate after having worked for years at the D.C.-based Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
