Go-go music is finally getting a dedicated museum in D.C. Here’s what residents in wards 7 and 8 think about the long-awaited institution.
The new facility, located off Good Hope Rd SE, marks the first Ward 8 recreation center the city has built in two decades.
“People don’t think about what a senior is going to do for the summer,” says Charles Turner, 74. But they’ll be busy – both taking time for themselves and their communities.
“The Bridge Spot” is part of the 11th Street Bridge Park project and will feature a rotation of makers from wards 7 and 8.
The festival, being held at multiple Anacostia venues this weekend, will offer media workshops, screen students’ work, and give out awards for the best films.
