Capitol Tree Lighting
You can never have too many Christmas trees. The U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree is being lit today on the West Front Lawn of the Capitol. The U.S. Air Force band will perform and House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.), will light the U.S. Capitol Holiday Tree tonight. Capitol’s West Front to Close
The lower terrace of the Capitols West Front will close to pedestrian traffic Sept. 22 when construction of stands for the 2005 inauguration ceremony begins, Roll Call is reporting. During the construction, entrances will be closed and public tours will be detoured.
