The Way We Drink Now: D.C.’s Boozy 2012
Many things in life should be done with moderation. Clicking on articles on this website, however, is not one of them. And in 2012, when it came to stories about D.C.’s drinking habits, DCist readers were gleefully indulgent.
After three weeks of brewing, the DCist Honey Ale entered its next phase yesterday when we finally moved the fresh beer from the plastic drum where it had been fermenting to bottles.

Our quest to replicate the White House Honey Ale began in earnest Wednesday night with the procurement of the most vital of the ingredients: the honey.
DCist is teaming up with the D.C. home brewer who launched the petition that prompted the publication of the White House’s top-secret beer recipes and making some of our own.

Recipe for White House Beer May Be Released
White House spokesperson Jay Carney recently announced on Twitter that the administration will unveil the beer’s recipe once a petition for this request receives 25,000 signatures by September 17.
