The Allbritton-owned station is getting rid of nasty Internet comments.
Meteorologist Bob Ryan will sign off for final time tonight as he retires from forecasting the D.C. area’s weather. The WJLA weatherman will end his over three-decade career during the 11 p.m. newscast.

TBD is truly no more. Pointing one’s web browser to TBD.com now automatically redirects to WJLA.com, bringing a bit more finality to Allbritton’s scuttled attempt at hyperlocal journalism.
WJLA had some trouble last night sending out email alerts notifying recipients of results of yesterday’s Republican presidential primaries, needed two tries to get the result of the Georgia primary wrong.
At 12:26 this afternoon, Arlington blogger of record ARLnow reported that a bomb threat had been called in to the office building at 1100 Wilson Blvd. in Rosslyn, which houses the main offices of WJLA, Politico and the remains of TBD. This was apparently news to local beat reporters working inside.

Despite Murrow Award, TBD Overhaul Coming Next Week
When TBD laid off a whole cadre of talented reporters and editors after a mere six months in existence, most people appeared to agree that it was a hasty move. A move which seems even more foolish now, since the site was recently awarded the Edward R. Murrow Award for the best Online News Operation in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia or the District of Columbia.
