Click Click: WPArade Takes Art for a Stroll

Everyone loves a parade, and on Saturday, the Washington Project for the Arts held their first WPArade, where artists and arts organizations showcased moving art, floats, portable sculpture and street performance along Half Street SE. The Batala Percussion Band started the parade off right, putting the meager crowd in the right frame of mind for some performance art. Washington Project for the Arts: Experimental Media Series

Updated: New Art Space Proposed for Cook Elementary

At the end of the 2007-2008 school year, 21 schools in the DCPS closed for good. During the summer, the city put up a request for proposals for ways to reuse the buildings, and via the Bloomingdale blog, it looks like some of our local arts supporters grabbed on to the opportunity.
