Click Click: WPArade Takes Art for a Stroll
Everyone loves a parade, and on Saturday, the Washington Project for the Arts held their first WPArade, where artists and arts organizations showcased moving art, floats, portable sculpture and street performance along Half Street SE. The Batala Percussion Band started the parade off right, putting the meager crowd in the right frame of mind for some performance art. All you need for a parade is a saxophone, a snare drum, searing heat, a couple a kiddie bombs, and the Floating Lab Collective. That is, if your parade is a WParade.
