Good morning, Washington. Ten years ago today, the unfathomable happened. Iconic towers crumbled to dust, and the structure of a great military institution suffered partial collapse. Nearly 3,000 people died in merciless terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. If not for the remarkable bravery of 40 heroes, it’s presumed many more would have perished in Washington.
J. Wellington Wimpy would be proud: word is that Z-Burger will be handing out free hamburgers to customers on days after the Dow Jones Industrial Average loses 500 points or more.

St. Patrick’s Day doesn’t offer much for teetotalers, aside from lots of drunk people and corned beef and cabbage. But today from 3-6 p.m., Z-Burger in Tenleytown will be offering their mint chocolate milkshakes for 99 cents.

Tomorrow is National Cheeseburger Day. But Z-Burger is celebrating today by selling cheeseburgers with all the fixings for $1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m at their Tenleytown location (4321 Wisconsin Avenue NW). Just say to the cashier, “Cheeseburger, Freeburger” even though…yeah…it’s not technically free.
