During last week’s Top Chef, two contestants were eliminated. Both Arnold and Lynne managed to garner votes in last week’s poll, while Stephen is again voteless. It’s almost not worth recounting last week’s poll results, as Kenny and Angelo once again dominated the field, grabbing 70 percent of the total votes combined. However, we’re seeing potty-mouth Alex begin to rise in the poll with 9 percent, wrenching a very distant third place from Kelly.

In “click through at your own risk” news: it looks like some overzealous PR people may have put out a big-time spoiler. (Don’t worry, we won’t ruin it for you.) As a recipient of the press release in question, it was clear that this was not exactly a targeted shill, and the agency was just drooling to capitalize on the chef in question’s recent notoriety to build a name for themselves. You can’t blame them for doing their job, but it’s frustrating for many nonetheless.

So here we are at five weeks in, wondering if there will be any opportunity for a change up in our so-far stagnant poll results. Will one of the favorites slip up and find himself the Howard Dean of the show? Will we see a dark horse step up their game and come from behind?

Our second poll question focuses on our local blue crabs. Since the show was filmed in April, which is the very start of the season (ending in December), those crabs were either small or imported from North Carolina or Louisiana. It’s a shame the producers didn’t wait until later in the season to feature one of the few truly regional ingredients at its peak. Nonetheless, we want to know how you feel about eating blue crabs.
