I’m an unabashed fan of Restaurant Week, though I normally spend my dollars on several $20 lunches instead of $35 dinners. With tax, tip, and a glass of wine, that $35 prix fixe meal can quickly become a $60-plus affair.
But not on H Street NE.
As restaurants across the rest of the city open their doors for Restaurant Week, 11 Northeast eateries will offer dinner for $20.10 a pop between August 16 and 22, via their H Street Eats promotion. And the casual eateries here — bars, diners, and takeout joints among them — will make up for the fact that they’re less expensive to begin with by offering two-for-one deals: yes, you can eat at H Street’s “restaurant week” for $10.05 per person.
Dangerously Delicious Pies may be the best value on the block next week. They’ll offer two savory pie slices, two sweet pie slices, and two drinks. That sounds split-worthy, but we won’t tell anyone if you feel you can down four slices on your own. Slices normally cost $6.50 for sweet and $7.50 for savory, so you’re getting well over $30 worth of pie and drinks for $20.10.
Just like its citywide counterpart, there are some good deals and places to skip. More of our recommendations, after the jump.
