Like many other local namesakes, John Alexander Logan was a successful Civil War general, but he was also a pretty busy guy. Aside from winning battles, Logan served stints in Congress, ran for vice president, worked to impeach President Andrew Johnson and helped establish the Memorial Day holiday.
