Do you live in the Iowa Circle neighborhood? You know, where the Whole Foods is located? Of course not, thanks to John A. Logan.

Like many other local namesakes, John Alexander Logan was a successful Civil War general, but he was also a pretty busy guy. Aside from winning battles, Logan served stints in Congress, ran for vice president, worked to impeach President Andrew Johnson and helped establish the Memorial Day holiday.
