This is some truly sad news: Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the death of a two week-old baby girl.

An MPD Public Information Officer tells DCist that the police got a call at 3:36 a.m. about an unresponsive infant on the 5100 block of Just St. NE. When police arrived on the scene, the unconscious infant girl was transported to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead, thirty minutes later.

It’s still not known how the baby girl died, but the MPD PIO tells DCist that an investigation is underway. Although MPD homicide detectives were leading the investigating, the death isn’t being ruled suspicious, WTOP reports.
