Sad times if you were planning on signing up for a Capital Bikeshare membership in the coming weeks: they’re all out of membership keys.
In a post on their website, Capital Bikeshare says that “due to issues with our supplier, and heavier than anticipated member sign ups, we are currently out of Capital Bikeshare member keys.” The keys, if you don’t know, are used by members to rent a Capital Bikeshare bike.
Luckily, a new shipment of keys are expected to be delivered the week of July 7th and Capital Bikeshare says you can ask to be notified when they’re available by emailing customerservice@capitalbikeshare.com.
So far this year, the District Department of Transportation says that they have more than 31,000 annual members this year. In may, 310,344 trips were made, setting a new single month ridership record.
A new high score! Members took 310,344 trips last month, beating the prev. single month record by more than 18,000! pic.twitter.com/raOJcCX5eR
