Another day, another public official saying they don’t know when the H Street-Benning Road streetcar will begin service.

In a hearing with the D.C. Council’s transportation committee, new District Department of Transportation director Leif Dormsjo declined to offer an exact date as to when the streetcar will begin service.

“I am holding back from putting any dates out there because I made a commitment to the independent SSOO that he can tell me it is ready to go in two weeks, or two months or two years,” Dormsjo said, the Post reports. “I apologize if not providing a date is frustrating, but it is the only way that I think we should be treating this.”

Some Councilmembers seemed even less enthusiastic that will begin service anytime in the near future. “I’ve been basically reduced to, ‘Do you think it will be running in my lifetime?'” Councilmember Mary Cheh (D-Ward 3) said, according to Loose Lips. “But then, of course, there’s the question of my own personal circumstances,” she added, quite morbidly.

Hell, residents are so pessimistic about likelihood of a full streetcar line connecting all of D.C. that there’s even talk of installing a gondola system in Georgetown.

So that got us wondering, when do you think the D.C. streetcar will begin passenger service? Cast your vote below:

When Will The D.C. Streetcar Begin Service?

By the end of the month.
By the end of the year.
Never.
When Dan Snyder apologizes (for everything).
¯_(ツ)_/¯
When Fugazi reunites.
Hahahahahaha.
