With predictions for 1-3 inches of snow falling on Monday night, Mayor Muriel Bowser has already directed the DC Snow Team to go into a “full deployment.”
By noon, they’ll have nearly 200 plows on the streets in the event that the day’s forecasted rain turns to snow in time for the evening rush hour. More likely, there could several inches overnight that would run into the morning commute on Tuesday.
According to Capital Weather Gang’s analysis, it will be a tricky one to predict:
This storm is not at all like the Blizzard of 2016, aka Snowzilla, as this storm system is less cohesive, more complex, and model forecasts are not nearly as unified. Several issues still need to be resolved before we have a good idea about accumulations.
