Diners can soon add Mediterranean bowls, salads, and pitas from Cava Grill to their plethora of food options at Union Station.
The D.C.-based fast casual shop will open in the transit hub by the end of this year—as part of a massive expansion, according to Washington City Paper.
After raising $30 million in new funding in March, the company announced that a new shop in Navy Yard will open this summer and another on the H Street Corridor this fall. Plus, it has plans to break into new markets like Boston, New Jersey, and Connecticut, and expand in cities where it already has shops, like New York and California.
Cava Grill’s fifth D.C. location opened in Shaw last December with its traditional “community dinner” that offered three hours of free food and spiced chai green tea. This locale also serves as an “Innovation Kitchen” for testing new menu items and technology and a space for hosting community events.
The restaurant, which we featured on our list of best fast-casual offerings in D.C., is set to open 20 new restaurants in 2017 in total.
