After saying goodbye to neighborhood favorites such as Bad Saint and Meridian Pint, locals hope a new crop of bars and restaurants in this longstanding Columbia Heights culinary hot spot are here to stay.

Nick Stefanelli already has Italian and Greek restaurants under his belt. With his latest in NoMa, he’s adding French to the mix.

D.C. now has its own Peter Chang restaurant with Chang Chang, the celebrated chef’s first restaurant in the District.

It comes from the team behind Ivy City Smokehouse — so expect plenty of seafood.

The restaurant is currently open for takeout only.

It’s inspired by street vendors, market stalls, and snack shops from across Mexico.

The store’s offerings reflect the growing diversity and popularity of the cookbook genre.

“I didn’t invent Persian food, but took it apart and put it back together,” the restaurant’s owner, Ali Mesghali, says.

The new Shaw establishment wants to “showcase the distinct taste of food from the Northern region of Vietnam and a physical journey of what you can eat on the streets of Hanoi.”

Chef Rob Rubba’s plant-forward new restaurant is dishing up “vegetable cookery”—and bivalves are in the works, too.
