NBC4 is reporting that the 900-pound “Climbing Pandas” sculpture formerly located near the intersection of Florida and Connecticut avenues (and the Washington Hilton) has gone missing.
PandaMania Program Director Alexandra MacMaster told the television station that “It’s pretty clear this was premeditated. To make off unseen with a statute of that size, you’d have to have the right equipment.” The panda people are offering a $1,000 reward for the return of the sculpture.
