– The Metro train operator who left her train unattended this week, the controller who let her do it, and the station manager who didn’t tell anybody what was going on were all disciplined by Metro with what they’re calling “reinstruction”. DCist hopes it’s not painful, and this time the instructions stick!
– A chemical added to D.C. water to reduce lead levels doesn’t seem to be doing much. Which, we’re told, is a good thing.
– Metro’s Silver Spring control room, which has been causing delays and frustration on the Red Line since it was flooded July 28, is finally fixed.
– The mayor yesterday signed the legislation authorizing the Anacostia Waterfront Corporation yesterday, which according to the AP could usher in a halcyon future where along the Anacostia you could “rent riverfront housing, stroll a Parisian-style bridge and even take a dip in the river.”
