A taxi cab crashed into Dupont Circle in a freak accident around 10 p.m. on Saturday. The accident, which sent the driver of the car to the hospital, slowed traffic around the circle for nearly 30 minutes.

According to eyewitness accounts, the taxi jumped the circle’s median and curb from the southwest before plowing into the outer ring of cement benches. You can see from DCist’s camera phone that there’s a big mess to clean up.
