People of D.C.! What were you doing crowding the metro this morning? DCist would like to remind you that NEXT week is the big get back to work week. This week is still summer vacation. Did the Sept. 1 date throw you off? You really shouldnt surprise an unsuspecting person on the metro by filling a train during a week that is traditionally one of the lightest of the summer. Even WMATA thinks it is still summer. They ran a four-car train as the second-string train. To our knowledge, WMATA hasnt run a rush hour four-car train on the Orange Line in a month or two. DCist kindly asks them to not begin that bad habit again.
Since everyone seems to have forgotten how to live up the remaining days of summer and for some reason have come to the conclusion that work is a form of amusement, DCist offers a few suggested activities. These can hold you over right through the end of the month. Remember, summer doesnt officially end until Sept. 22.
