DCist got an invite in the mail a few weeks ago to attend a big shindig being held on Sept. 21 for the AT Children’s Project, a nonprofit dedicated to, according to their web site, “finding a cure for ataxia-telangiectasia, a rare genetic disease that causes progressive loss of motor control, cancer and immune system problems” in kids.

Now, we’re all for charitable works, but we’re on a budget here folks, and the $1,500 (per person) price tag is just out of our reach. What did make us squee with intrigue though, are the events Celebrity Co-Chairs. They happen to be none other then Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner (Alias). Anyone worth their weight in US Weekly’s knows that rumors have been rampant around Hollywood that the Daredevil co-stars have been dating (see image) but nothing has been confirmed.

that “the chemistry between these two lusters will be more official Sept. 21, then – get this – Ben ‘n’ Jen cohost a charitable to-do in DeeCee[D.C] for the AT Children’s Project!”

Barring a joint appearance at this Sunday’s Emmy Awards show, could it be that these high profile are-they-or-aren’t-they celebrities are making their first joint appearance in our little burg? The buzz certainly seems to indicate so! Count on DCist to keep you updated….
