Redskins fans angered by FedEx Field regulations barring fans from walking to the stadium are bringing their complaints before the Prince George’s County board of appeals. They are curious whether a county official can decree that sidewalks leading to the stadium are off-limits to pedestrians. The county official, Dale Coppage, said that walking is a public safety hazard and that technically, the sidewalks cross a combination of private and public property.

Redskins fans who don’t park at FedEx Field have been forced to ride crowded shuttle buses. Some think that officials with FedEx Field are just trying to monopolize parking and see the hundreds of free spots at the nearly empty Landover Mall as a threat. The AP, via WJLA reports that the appeals board “promised a vote at a future meeting.”

The Redskins franchise, which includes FedEx Field, is valued at over $1 billion, and is the most valuable team in the NFL.
