It seems that folks over at IndeBleu, the soon-to-be-open Indian-French fusion restaurant in Gallery Place, are putting the finishing touches on their restaurant operation, putting out an all points bulletin via the Post’s Tom Sietsema that they’re looking for a friendly wait staff, that, as the general manager says, will make diners feel “important and cared for and wonderful.”

And it should be a tip-top operation once the place serves its first fusion dishes in mid-December. IndeBleu’s general manager, Jay Coldren, got his start at the revered Inn at Little Washington. (On a side note, if you have time, listen to this Sept. 22 interview from the “Diane Rehm Show” that provides an indepth look and history of the Inn at Little Washington, perhaps the region’s finest restaurant operation.)

Coldren tells Sietsema that dance instructors will be brought from IndeBlue’s associated StudioBleu in Sterling, Va., to teach elements of “appearance, posture and style” to new wait staff members. (Enterprise Bleu, which runs IndeBleu, StudioBleu and SalonBleu, is based out of Georgetown. Check out this Washington Business Journal article to learn more about about the “Bleu Man Group.”

Talk of the coming of IndeBleu has been buzzing on the eGullet food forum since this spring. The design will be very innovative (depending on one’s definition, of course) with C-shaped swinging couches and the like. From the eGullet forum on the high-tech/restaurant/lounge/fusion concept:

…I suspect there IS a significant difference between selling global trade software and French/Indian fusion cuisine. Plus, if you view your restaurant as just another outlet for marketing your luxury brand, what are you actually selling: fine food or an upscale lifestyle fantasy? Bet you a dollar Mr. [Arjun] Rishi has a poster of Richard Branson in his study…

DCist is curious about the IndeBlue concept and we’re eagerly awaiting the opening day to see what the buzz is all about. Anyone else have thoughts or information about IndeBleu?

But there’s more food news on the jump, including what’s going to replace BeDuCi on P Street.
