A bust of Father Edward B. Bunn, president of Georgetown University from 1952 to 1964, has gone missing from a campus building.
In an e-mail to graduate students, Provost Dr. James J. O’Donnell calls the disappearance a “bad behavior, bad manners, and a bad joke,” praising Father Bunn (pictured above) as one of a small group that “took a small college on the Hilltop and brought it into the first ranks of universities of the world.”
O’Donnell requests anyone with information report it to campus officials, however adds:
“Better still if Fr. Bunn were simply to reappear: those who assist him in reappearing will be asked no questions, and he can be counted on to keep a secret as well, I think. Perhaps he’d like to get a cup of coffee at the Corp stand in *his* ICC or just hang out for a while in the lobby of Lauinger or stop by the Carroll Parlor in Healy. He knows the campus pretty well and can be counted on to find a good safe place to reappear.
